During late 2006 and early 2007, I decided to make a few videos based on my drawing process for sketchbook illustrations. Editing them in Windows Movie Maker, the little movies were sped up and layered. Plus, I added a sound clip from my collection of assorted tracks.
I would film a 30-minute drawing and shrink it down to less than 3 minutes. Hard to recall the production process, but there was likely my old red sketchbook, a camera, some cables, and a cobbled-together overhead rigging.
At the time, I was interested in drawing without a plan or intention. I would allow the moment and tool to describe what needed to happen. Basically, everything was abstract, but I was creating universes and creatures in my mind.
